Through both surgical and nonsurgical procedures, New York plastic surgeons Dr. Michelle Copeland and Dr. Libby Copeland-Halperin can help you improve your looks in ways that will make you happier with your appearance and give you more confidence.
Dr. Copeland and Dr. Copeland-Halperin are one of the few mother-daughter plastic surgery practices in the nation. We work with an international clientele, drawing patients from Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Whether it’s a virtual consultation or in person, we will answer all of your questions including options, costs, recovery and all aspects of treatment for surgical procedures such as breast augmentation, breast reduction, liposuction, mommy makeover, facelift, eyelid surgery, or rhinoplasty, and non-surgical treatments like Botox®, Kybella®, fillers and other non-invasive techniques. Unlike many practices and spas, Dr. Copeland and Dr. Copeland-Halperin take a hands-on and holistic approach to patient care, personally performing all treatments and taking the time to get to know their patients, so they can tailor treatments to each individual patient.
Dr. Michelle Copeland
Dr. Michelle Copeland is the first woman plastic surgeon with Harvard doctorates in Medicine and Dentistry and is the author of Change Your Looks, Change Your Life: Cosmetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and The Beautiful Skin Workout. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and an attending surgeon at the Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Libby Copeland-Halperin
Dr. Libby Copeland-Halperin is a double board-certified and Ivy League-trained plastic surgeon. Dr. Copeland-Halperin completed her training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the prestigious Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. She then completed advanced training in microsurgery and breast reconstruction at the world-renowned Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. Copeland-Halperin is also board-certified in general surgery, having completed her general surgery residency at the Inova Fairfax Medical Center, a large tertiary care hospital in Northern Virginia, where she became Chief Resident for Quality and Safety and served on several hospital committees. She engaged in research on patient safety and quality outcomes in both general and plastic surgery and won awards for research and teaching. After completing her training, Dr. Copeland-Halperin joined Dr. Copeland in practice as one of very few mother-daughter plastic surgery duos in the nation.

PRIVATE SURGICAL FACILITY
Dr. Copeland and Dr. Copeland-Halperin perform most surgical procedures in their private, state-of-the-art surgical facility located within their Fifth Avenue office. Our surgical facility meets New York State registration requirements and is accredited by the rigorous American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (AAAASF) for all forms of anesthesia. Dr. Copeland and Dr. Copeland-Halperin perform surgeries in our private surgical suite under local anesthetic, nitrous oxide analgesia, and intravenous (IV) sedation (“twilight” anesthesia) with IV sedation administered by board-certified anesthesiologists. IV sedation helps speed recovery after surgery compared with general anesthesia and allows patients to always breath on their own.
Our entire team, including our board-certified anesthesiologists and private nurses, are fully trained to ensure our patients receive excellent care. Our discreet, private office and surgical facility are conveniently located across the street from the world-renowned Metropolitan Museum of Art, yet have been designed to provide a private oasis for our patients with a comforting environment and exceptional care. Our office is here to help you from your initial consultation to the day of surgery and throughout your recovery and can also help coordinate a stay and nursing care at a nearby hotel.
